The Sculpture Gallery Wedding
A couple of other frames I liked from the recent Woburn Abbey -The Sculpture Gallery. The first is a grabbed moment of the best man and his family soaking up a splash of sunshine and taking a small breather post ceremony. The light just spilled inbetween the pillars of the gallery and I turned and took three frames of which this composition is by far the best…warm, golden and happy . A family portrait. The second image is of the button holes before the grroms arrival..neatly labelled and waiting for their turn centre stage. Detail makes the difference.

Carly and Jon- A Portrait at Woburn Abbey
I still keep discovering wonderful new images from the wedding at Woburn Abbey of Carly and Jon. Not only is it a prestigious location (in The Sculpture Gallery) with the Abbey as a backdrop but both of the main participants are very attractive people..(as defined by Jon’s brothers Best Man speech..Jon’s words apparently). The weather makes a huge difference of course to any wedding and I shot one on Easter Sunday between Leanne and Hugh where it hailed right in the middle of their vows (it was outdoors at Le Gothique in Wandsworth-post to follow). Anyway-back to Woburn where it tried to rain in that fitful showery fashion so typical of English early spring- but sun did pop out for a minute or two- just as Carly and Jon posed in an archway… so good for backlight. I can’t tell you how much I love grand locations and I have a few booked this year to add to my list of castles, abbey’s and institutions… but as always a wedding is only as good as the vibe..its ultimately the people who warm the corridors and hallways with their good cheer and bonhomie!

A windy, rain swept day was always going to add drama to a wedding at this stunning venue Woburn Abbey-The Sculpture Gallery.
Weddings at Woburn are infused with such a sense of style…surrounded by grandeur and elegance both inside the buildings and outside in the park with the magnificent Woburn Abbey as a backdrop.
I was helping my good friend and colleague Vicky Neale of Sophotolife cover the marriage of Jon and Carly..an opportunity too good to miss. I enjoy the Grand Wedding’ scenario and photographing a wedding at Woburn Abbey certainly fits that bill.
A big ‘Thank You’ to Jolanta Cole the lovely Harpist who helped direct me into The Sculpture Gallery when all appeared locked earlier in the day. Jolanta provided the beautiful music as a backdrop to the ceremony.
Carly looked simply stunning and very sweet too.. irresistable! Jon clearly looks after himself (he is a fitness trainer and it shows!) and they made a good looking couple to photograph. Bravely weathering smatterings of rain and a cold wind Vicky and I photographed them outside in the grounds… I am always buzzing with opportunities to keep going but time as always dictates.. and the Wedding Breakfast soon came and with it some very tender speeches.
A great wedding.. a great venue. Wedding photography at Woburn..its a winner!
