So Long 2012.

So we are soon to be saying goodbye to 2012. Like most years. Some good, some not so good moments. In general, this recession has ebbed and flowed through the pursestrings of everyone involved in imagery. Not only clients who wish to buy great photography from hard pressed businesses but also from manufacturers and suppliers who have either collapsed and gone out of business (goodbye to Jacobs..) or are trying to offer better value services and products.

Married at Last!

Like all good photographers I constantly monitor the marketplace and try to provide competitive prices for the high quality service I provide and I still remain committed to producing the very best images I can and present them in albums and packages that I feel extremely proud of. Quality does have a price… but one I hope that discerning customers will feel IS value for money!

The Cushion

Leeds Castle was the venue for competition winners Davina and Rufus. I ran a free wedding shoot prize to publicise the fledgeling business and was delighted to find the winners had booked Leeds Castle in Kent as their venue.

Obviously not short of a bob or two its the only wedding I’ve yet attended where all the grooms best friends were in top hat and tails! Made for some wonderful pictures of course . The weather wasn’t great however and I had fingers crossed that we would see some sun as some point in the day. It wasn’[t until the very final few minutes before the wedding breakfast that the light broke through and I took the images that I have used ever since as my main opening shots on the website and in adverts etc.

This image is from much earlier in the day, just outside the church beside the castle. Leeds Castle was going to be reached by horse and carriage for the wedded couple and as they made their way down to it Davina wanted to have a photograph taken with this cushion...made by her grandmother I believe and symbolic of good fortune and a happy marriage!

Taking the image I was struck by what it meant to her and how happy her new husband Rufus was to be at her side in this moment.

And so.. after two weeks of near torrential rain, where skies rarely glowed to let us know there was still a sun in the sky we came to Rufus and Davina’s big event at Leeds Castle as photographed bySee Me Photography!

(Rufus and Davina won the services of See Me after entering a competition in Your Kent Wedding.)

My kit had been sorted with rain in mind, even getting Sophie Wilson to bring some white umbrellas from colleague Vicky in hertfordshire in the  event of downpurs at church and castle! But.. and what a sigh of relief I say that with, the skies were magically lifted to a scattered cloud and mild warm sunshine..perfect for the time of year!

The day moved slightly chaotically from Broomfield Church to Castle grounds where a plethora of groupshots were requested inpromptu style, which caused a few headaches trying to accomodate different relations, bride and groom but with Sophies help (and loud voice) we managed to get some beautiful, emotional stories on film.. (of course I mean on pixel but it just doesn’t sound the same!!)

The final bride and groom portraits as the sun burst through for twenty minutes of golden warmth made everything worthwhile and I look forward to posting some Leeds Castle Wedding Photographs shortly!

I’ve included one iomage here as my uisual taster.. See Me Photography Photographs a Wedding at Leeds Castle.. yours can be next!!
